Critters
Ladybugs and butterfies, caterpillars too,
All will line up end to end to spell out I love you.
The insects of the meadow, the creatures of the wood,
Know that I'll always love you, the way you know I should.
The squirrels have their acorns, the beavers have their trees,
The grubs for armadillos, the flowers have their bees.
Everything will have a match, a thing that it will need,
It might be used for safety, it might be used for feed.
But you my dear will hold me, and keep me from all harm,
You'll cuddle and caress me, in town or on the farm.
Ladybugs and butterflies, caterpillars too,
All will line up end to end to spell out I love you.
Posted by special request. Something I did more years ago than I care to think about.
Should a love poem contain ladybugs?
The absolutely best poem in our "spring buggy series." Love it, laughed, cried, and laughed again.
Reply:Why???
I read this and lament and ask myself Why?
Why is there not a man my own age (or close) to write such beautiful poetry for me to swoon over. Is it any wonder why all us ladies are so in love with you? Can you clone yourself 25 years old and send it to me?
Reply:Terrific, terrific. You should set this to music, oh talentend minstrel. I can only imagine that it would make the perfect lullaby. Yep, I just sang it...it's beautiful. Love you and your work, friend.
Reply:It's a beautiful love poem Dondi......really beautiful...and these two lines could make this day so special for me

All will line up end to end to spell out I love you".......

Reply:That is so sweet. Not too long ago I was tucking my son into bed and he said, "Mom, ladybugs are cute...just like you." I thought that was really precious, but wondered if it was a compliment, lol. It is and yes, ladybugs should be used in love poems. Good job!
