Tattoo flaking and lines fading??

I got a new tattoo a few days ago and my skin is flaking, and I am noticing that the lines in the tattoo don't appear to be there. It is looking kinda blurry and not crisp like my other one. Is this just because of the flaking? Will the lines show up again? they are gray-ish lines around some flowers. Will the colors get brighter once it is completely healed??

I have another tattoo, it was just so long ago and only in black and white, so i didn't really notice this problem if it was there. just wondering if it will be beautiful in a couple of weeks or if I will need some serious retouching. thanks!! ;]

Are you following your aftercare instructions?

It's normal for a tattoo to flake and peel. After a few days to a week is when your tattoo will look it's worst. It will have a "cloudy" effect to it. This means that the tattoo is "sloughing" off the dead skin. Continue to clean and apply ointment every 4-7 hours. Clean your tattoo for at least 10 days. Don't pick at the flakes or scabbing or you will loose color. Make sure that you are using only cool water and lightly wiping or blotting the tattoo to remove the dead skin.

*Note cool water is less likely to start bleeding.

Make sure that you are wearing loose fitting clothes so that the tattoo can breathe. Keep your tattoo out of the sun, pools, hot tubs, etc. until its completley healed.
Reply:You are making sure that your tattoo is moisturized all the time right? Putting Keri lotion or something on it every couple of hours?

Every tattoo I've ever gotten has peeled in one way or another, that is normal. Some of the color does lift out in that process, but it should look as bright or brighter once its completely healed.

If you are doing making sure that the area is moisturized, I would wait until it completely heals and then if it looks like some of the lines aren't done good enough go back to the artist and ask them to touch it up. They want their work to look good, so they will do it.
Reply:since youre only describing it and no picture theres no sure way anyone could tell you without seeing it. it could be skips and in the case you will need touchups done. How well did you know the artist and thier work? Also I hope youre not tearing or scratching off whats flaking cause that will cause color loss too. probably a wait and see game. Good luck.
Reply:It may be a few spots where the artist didn't get the ink into the skin well enough. I would wait till it completely heals and see what kind of touch up you want done if any.
Reply:is the tattoo supose 2 be like crispy and it kinda looks like is falling off? cause i got one on thuresday and thats how it looks
