Need valentines day gift ideas for gf?

I don't want to just do card/flowers and can't afford diamonds or other expensive jewelry. She says she is dieting (since Christmas) so chocolates and other edibles are out too. I know girls apparently like poems and homemade stuff but I'm not creative enough to do more that 2 lines without resorting to fratboy humor, so I'm looking for something to buy that is not too expensive. ideas?

Need valentines day gift ideas for gf?
get a nice basket, put a bottle of wine or her favorite drink in it, bath oils, gift certificates, cds, your picture in a frame, flowers, some nic nac stuff, things that mean something to both of you and write her a nice letter im a valentines day card, if she doesnt like that, then dump her for someone who appreciates you(also give her a couple of pieces of chocolate, tell her she doesnt need to diet)
Reply:if she likes music get or mix her a cd of songs that she likes or that are special to the two of you. movies work as well if she likes them. just remember the things she likes and do that. maybe wrap it in a red bow of some sort.

...or you could make her dinner and say to hell with her weightloss since you love her just the way she is (though depending on what you make, she might slap you)
Reply:Get a romantic caricature drawn - she will love it I am sure!

Maybe the two of you in a heart or something?

I saw a nice heart one here http://www.caricatureking.com/zalo-sampl... this had some wording

I understand that being digital, you can place them on anything you like, t-shirt, print, cup etc
Reply:Do you have any friends that can teach you how to give a good massage? If so set up a table at her house, or yours and treat her to a massage and bubble bath with candles.

Make sure you get all the way through the massage and bath before taking it any further, she will be so ready to wrip your cloths off!!!! Good luck, If only my hubby would do this for me, I would go nuts. In a good way;)
Reply:Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.
Reply:Invite her over for dinner and a movie. You can keep it simple if she's dieting and do salads and breadsticks and a nice bottle of wine. have a nice romantic movie rented and after dinner snuggle up on the couch and watch the movie. Keep it simple - she should think it's romantic.
Reply:Buy her Blood Moon written by Dawn Thompson, also a new or good condition cast iron horseshoe without rust with the U shape up for good luck.
Reply:My b/f bought me a Precious Moments figurine last year that I absolutely love. Somehow he managed to pick one that had just the right message. Your local hallmark store should sell them or there are lots of places online that sell PM and similar love-themed figurines.
