I'm trying to find out when and where a pre civil war cup and saucer were made.?

The bottom of the cup has a 7 over a 1 with a line between them and a star burst in the center. There is a picture of a church and a garden on both sides of the cup and around the edges of the saucer. Inside the cup is full of flowers with a church and what appears to be a gate. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Fortunately, you have the Maker's Mark. That's the mark that's on the bottom of the tea cup. Does the saucer have one, too? Try e-mailing the people at the website below. They appear to know what they're doing and might be willing to help you.

You can also go to the library. There are books that will give you pics of the Maker's Mark and list the company that made the piece. Good luck!
