i have a homework question....
[[solve and answer]]
The pep club is going to sell bouqets of flowers during the homecoming game. They represent their revenue [[R]] and costs [[C]] with the following equations .
R= 5.50x
C= 250 + 1.25x
X is the number of bouquets.
A. When is the pep club's revenue equall to their cost? Explain.
B. What is the y-intercept of the line for each equation. What information does it represent in this context?
C. What is the constant rate of change for each relationship? What information does it represent in this context?
if you can answer this thank you so much!!
Someone pleese help!!!?
A. the revenue and cost are equal for the number of bouquets where you make as much money as you had to pay. the best way to tell is to graph both equations and see where they cross
B. the y intercept is the constant of he part with out an x. the first equation has a y intercept of zero because nothing is added on to the equation and you don't make any money if you don't sell any bouquets. the y intercept of the second equation is 250 because they have to spend $250 to sell the bouquets in the first place, probably for tables or as a deposit or the initial number of bouquets bought,
c. the constant rate of change is the slope. the slope is the number being multiplied by the x. so in the first problem it is 5.5 this means that they sell the bouquets for $5.50 because that is how much they get per bouquet. the sale of the second equation is 1.25 meaning that each bouquet cost them $1.25 because that is the equation for the cost
