So quiet

Yet everyone’s crying

She slipped away



A long line extending through a another room

Flowers surround her

A beautiful bouquet of sunflowers

Sit on the lid of her coffin



She’s smiling

We’re weeping

It just doesn’t seem right



People I don’t even know

Are shaking my hand

And saying “You have my condolences”

Or “She was a very special person”



I can’t stop crying

It’s too hard

I’m screaming in my head

“Please tell me this isn’t real”



She won’t see me graduate,

Get married, see my kids



She left behind a legacy

As they close the curtain

They shut the casket

Forever, she will be remembered.
