HELP!!! Please help with a HUGE homework assignment!!!?
Poetry is easier to understand as a whole (at least classical poetry)....If you have the rest of the poem it might make more sense. But "sow'd" would mean someone is planting the seeds of something "far and wide", which basically means all over the place. so, based on that, ____ is being planted, taught, implemented in many places or to many people. I hope that helps...again, I would need the rest of the poem to really understand it.
Reply:In the first stanza he is talking about how he planted a seed which produced a flower. People thought it was a weed. The second stanza is talking about how much they hated the flower. Then theives stole it and "sow'd it far and wide"... they spread the seeds from the flower throughout the world, until finally the flowers become normal, and it is thought of as beautiful.

I thought the message of the poem was basically that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One thing can be thought of a flower, and that very same thing can be thought of as a weed.

So that's what I got out of it.

Hoped that help!! :)
