Do you pay for INCOMING calls?
Why do we have to cover the investment/operating costs of the cell phone companies in this country (USA)?
If I open a restaurant, or want to sell flowers, or whatever, I have to pay all my expenses. Right?
Why should we allow the phone companies to charge TWICE for the same call?!
I know the REASONS (cell vs land-lines; it is more expensive to provide service over cell vs land-lines). My point is that I DON'T CARE about the expenses that the company has. That is THEIR problem, isn't it?!
If there are problems in the Middle-east, the price of oil goes up. If there is a problem with some fruit, the cost goes up. I KNOW about that. What I am talking about is charging a call at BOTH ENDS (WHEN it is a cell call--I am NOT talking about land-lines).
Could any company say, "We are going to charge you for the orange juice that you ordered AS WELL AS the orange juice that you drank, because our expenses are so great?"
Educated answers are hoped for (WHO controls this?)
Do you pay for INCOMING cell calls?
um... the only friend i have who doesnt pay for incoming calls in my friend who has Nextale!!!! hope that helps
Reply:they call that air time, I call it a rip off
Reply:Your point makes sense if both callers are using the same Cell Phone network.
But if callers are using different providers, why should your provider let you use thier network for free when you recieve an incoming call ?
Of course the easist way around this, is to just sign up for a cell phone plan that does not charge for incoming calls.
Reply:u do have to pay but if u get a nextel cell phone incoming calls are free
Reply:Yes, you do.
Reply:You are charged minutes for incoming cell calls however depending on your plan you can see how much it may cost per minute:)
Reply:I've never heard of not paying for incoming calls on your cell phone. Thats a very good point.
Reply:I don't pay for incoming calls. That's just part of my plan.
Reply:Some companys ( i t hink nextel) you can get free incomming calls, but i do, also belive stornly about your point. We def. shouldnt have to pay when someone calls us. I usaully dont talk until after 9 when its free.
