How fancy were your tables, or are they going to be?
We're thinking of doing just some simple mirrors and votive candles with flower petals as the centerpieces and a stamped napkin and candy favor at each setting...but not set out glasses, plates silverware or anything b/c we're doing a buffet line....what do you think?
Can you describe what you did or are going to do for your reception tables?
My wedding was red, black and white. So I had alternated the table cloths then had hankerchief (3 on each table) the middle had a glass jar either heart or star shapped (alternated by tables) filled with floating candles then outside had oval shaped candle holder with red or white candle in (alternated) then just shook confetti over table. Your idea sounds great I also had buffet so did not put plates of cups out anywhere other than at food table.
Reply:The ballroom we rented had 4 round tables in front (for family, like parents, etc) and then the rest were rectangle ones angled. They already had cream colored linens on them (no cost) and my mom and I made the centerpieces. We used green floral block and stuck in greenery and white %26amp; cream silk flowers (crisanthimums, roses, etc) and a pillar candle in the middle. They sat on silver tone charger plates I found at Walmart for $1.99 each. Also used votives scattered on the tables. It was very pretty. :)
We also did a buffet style meal. They provided all the dishes and silverware and served people in the line. The line moved fast and the food actually stayed warm this way.

I made the candles myself, borrowed the holder/sand/shells from the beach bed and breakfast where we had the ceremony/reception and did the flowers with my mom and mother-in-law. Not only was it pretty, but it was so much fun! We did a buffet as well, but used glasses and napkins to decorate with for a touch of color. You've got a great idea - run with it! Good luck and enjoy your day. It goes by so quickly!
Reply:I am putting a dak red runner down the table and 2 bud vases with Gerbera Daisies in them. I am taking other daisies and pulling the petals off and putting them on the table along with some daisy heads. There will be a mirror with hurricane glass and candle on each table also. the table is 6x6

I will have a setting of a bread and butter small china plate with 2 forks (salad and dinner) and one dinner knife. I will have a water glass and the champagne glass with our personalized dinner napkins and their favors in each setting.
Reply:I ALSO HAD A BUFFET LINE. I GOT MARRIED IN THE MOUNTAINS AT A RESORT. THE TABLES WERE OLD FASHIONED WOOD ONES WE LEFT THEM EMPTY EXCEPT FOR THE FLAMELESS CANDELS THEY SAID WE COULD USE(FIRE HAZZARD) SIMPLE IS ELEGANT
